According to a 2013 report by the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and the United Nations Foundation, as many as 9 of 10 children between the ages of 8 and 19 give in some form to charity. Giving can be the tie that binds generations and brings families together around a sense of shared purpose. Involving children and grandchildren in the granting decisions from the donor advised fund can be a path to building a charitable sensibility in future generations and to including and inspiring children in the philanthropic heart of the family.
